November Newsletter

Hello SUBbers! Hope you’re all doing good with the upcoming exams and the dark autumn. Just a month left until winter break 🙂! This month is a bit quieter regarding our events, but there are still a few options to choose from for when you need a break from studying! ❤️

Here they are listed:

—————————————————————

Movie Thursdays (Every Thursday @19.00) @19.00 Teleparty
We’re here to make your social distancing a bit more fun with a weekly movie night!
All you need is a Netflix account and the chrome add-on called Teleparty!Anyone can suggest a movie in the poll posted on the Facebook group during the week, and on Thursday we’ll watch it together using Teleparty. You can watch the movie while you chat with your fellow SUBbers using the add-on, or using our official channel in Discord.
Check the FB group for further details on how it works ❤️

Mythological Pub-Quiz 24.11. @19.00 Zoom
What’s good, pussycats? A few of us tutors have been hosting pub-quizzes for the freshers and we are now extending the invitation to everyone in SUB!

For our next quiz, our chosen theme is mythology. We will be asking you trivia questions about multiple different religions and their mythology (this is your time to shine @ people who read Percy Jackson in middle school!)
We will be hosting this over Zoom (the link will be added closer to the event) and we hope a lot of you can make it! The quiz officially starts at 19:00, but your hosts will be on the call from 18:00 onwards, so you’re welcome to join us before the official beginning.

SUB Plot November Meeting@20.00 24.11.
Our bookclub’s November meeting will be held on Tuesday the 24th via Zoom! For this month the book is: Olga Tokarczuk’s Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead!
There’s still plenty of time to read this marvelous book and join the meeting to discuss it!

SUB’s New Members’ Meeting & General Election MeetingAs the year is coming to an end in only a few months, it’s time to hold SUB’s annual new members’ meeting as well as our general election meeting. The dates and the details on how they will be arranged (most likely online) will be announced soon, so look forward to it!

————————————————–

New Members’ Evening is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with our board, committees, clubs and SUB in general!
The current members of the board will introduce you to their sectors and open up the routines and pleasures of being a board member.
Feel free to think of questions, possible areas of interest or ideas in advance, but all you really need is your curiosity.

————————————————-

General Election Meeting is where the new board of SUB ry for the year 2021 will be decided. All board positions are open to all members of SUB and every member is eligible to vote at the meeting.
If you dream of organizing events, taking care of environmental or equality matters or simply want to make a difference by using your voice in the decision-making process, the board of a student organization is a great place to start. In a student organization board, you get valuable experience and new skills, which may later become useful in work life.

Further details on both of these events will arrive via email later!

——————————————–

That is all for November!
Stay safe everyone and good luck on your exams.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email me back!

Best regards,
Alice
